HSL-3 cannot select normal HSL-3. Only HSL-3-R, HSL-3-GR and HSL-3-SKR can be selected
Hi,
I am trying to design a base plate with HSL-3 M24. However, in the PROFIS software, I can only select HSL-3-R, HSL-3-GR and HSL-3-SKR types, where M20 is the max. available bolt size for these types. (See attached photo)
I am currently using ver. 3.0.75 online. How can this problem be solved? Is any invalid software setting? And can I do the manual calculation for HSL-3 M24 bolts instead?
Thanks,
Ben Lai

Dear Ben,
Thank you for your enquiry.
Since the galvanized version of HSL-3 is phased out, only the stainless steel version (-R) for HSL-3 is available but not the galvanized one in PROFIS Engineering. HSL-4B is suggested for the alternative for HSL-3.
Feel free to let me know if there is any problem.
Thanks,
Daniel

Hi Daniel,
Thanks for your prompt reply. I have the following enquires:
1. Is galvanized version of HSL-3 still available to order? Or is it just not available in PROFIS software?
2. Since I am working on the BD submission in Hong Kong, it seems that HSL-4B is not listed on the BD central data bank. So it cannot be used in BD submission?
3. If some of the existing connections used HSL-3 galvanized version, how can we check the bolt capacity with/without PROFIS software? Do we need to refer to the ETAG design guide and do hand calculations?
Thanks,
Ben
