SOFA with "FILL"

SOFA with "FILL"

Used Profis for anchor design, it suggested to use SOFA with "FILL", what we have to do on site for "FILL" conditions? I found the effective embedment depth in the report is 64mm for HST3-R-M10 and longer than original 60mm, why? Will BD accept?

Thank you for your enquiry. Please find the below comments for your reference.

  1. The function "Fill holes with SOFA" aims at maximizing the shear capacity of each anchor in your case. The gap between the mechanical anchor and baseplate is needed to be filled by grouting or HY200-R.
  2. From the updated ETA report issued on 4th May 2021, variable embedment depth for different HST3 sizes is one of the special features. It enables HST3 to be embedded deeper with a range thus providing a larger flexibility for customers’ design. By applying solution of fastening (SOFA), we are able to check the HST3 anchor capacity with varies embedment. However, please kindly be reminded that customers need to measure the actual anchorage length for each anchor for correct installation on site.

We do not have the right to speak for BD. However, PROFIS Engineering is one of the pre-accepted structural programs in BD (program reference S1074). It is believed that the submission can go smoothly.

Thanks Daniel. So, will HK BD accept embedment depth of HST3-R-M10 longer than 60mm?
